You might be asking yourself, what does Cami know about being overweight? What does she know about not feeling strong, fit, attractive, or sexy? Well, just like so many women, I have struggled with these each of these issues at different points of my life. Overweight? Sure, I've been there. Did it feel good? NO!!!! Not feeling strong? Oh yea, big time! In my 20's I took up running as a way to get through a seriously flawed relationship. I became a "long distance" runner (someone who isn't fast, but can run and run and run....), but I couldn't do a pushup, hold a plank, do a full sit up etc. Hmmmm - get the picture?
Turning 40 was an "a-ha" moment. I took a long look in the mirror, and didn't like what I saw! I decided that it was time to become the person that I wanted to be. Guess what? It is a PROCESS! Am I there? No, not yet. But, I DO feel like the journey is worth every single step (or Burpee, pushup, situp etc). Yes!
I no longer say, "someday I want to do a triathlon", or "someday I want to run a marathon". I do it!! No matter what - I do it! I refuse to stand in my own way. How about you?
